DESCRIPTION:Interest in applying for concealed carry licenses in multiple states? \nThe world is an unpredictable place\, you may need to protect yourself\, family and loved ones at any time\, and wherever you may be. Being proactive is essential in maintaining your safety and providing confidence to act effectively should you need to. This NRA accredited course provides the necessary skills to take control of any situation quickly and safely wherever you are. \nThis course was designed as a comprehensive\, 16-hour class that includes both theoretical and practical activities. The NRA created it to provide the certification needed to apply for carry permits in Maryland\, Utah\, Arizona\, Florida and Virginia. This in turn allows concealed carry for self-defense in most US states. Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory)\, Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense\, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills\, Drawing from Concealment\, Loading and Stoppage Remediation\, Mindset\, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment\, Firearm Cleaning\, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities. \nThis is a live fire course so students are free to bring their own handgun and holster. If you don’t have on yet we will have a variety to choose from so you can decide what platform works best for you. \nCovering the basics of firearm safety\, carrying and drawing a firearm and deployment of a firearm in self-defense\, you will learn from NRA accredited instructors\, giving you the skills and confidence to take appropriate measures should you find yourself in a life-threatening situation. As this is an NRA accredited class you will receive a NRA Course certificate as well as your certificate for the Maryland Wear and Carry. \nThe hours for this class will be June 8th\, 10am-6pm and June 10\,11 from 5pm-9pm.

You recognize the potential danger of crime and armed crime to yourself and your loved ones which is why you carry a weapon with you. But a general concealed carry or armed self-defense course does not prepare you for the events and chaos of an active violence event. Having the right tools and knowledge to make the most of that advantage is essential though\, and this course is designed to provide just that. \nThrough a combination of in-class instruction and practical scenario training\, this course will help you make the right choices that provide the best route to survival if you are caught in an active shooter situation. \nConducted by highly experienced\, certified instructors\, this course focuses on situation assessment\, so you can quickly identify threats and take action to avoid them where possible. Here\, where space is restricted and your focus is on protecting your loved ones\, making the wrong choice can lead to disaster. \nThis course is designed to provide you with the skills\, understanding and practical experience you need to deal with such a situation effectively while minimizing risk to yourself and those you are protecting. You will gain a strategic understanding that lets you make informed choices that deliver your loved ones to safety. Theis includes theory lessons in strategy as well as practical scenarios that help you put everything into practice to gain valuable experience if you ever find yourself in this situation. \nThe course is built around an intruder scenario\, defending your house and loved ones when running is not an option. The course will cover setting up a long gun for home-defense and there will be multiple examples available. We will talk about firearm attachments\, flashlights as well as the pros and cons of using a supressor. After a setup talk the class will begin tactical firearms training concepts in our two story training building.\nThe course will go into practical ways to manuver in a dwelling and ways to barricade a room to keep loved ones safe while waiting for a police response as well as single person threshold evaluations and room clearance and practical instruction on low light shooting with a rifle. Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory)\, Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense\, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills\, Drawing from Concealment\, Loading and Stoppage Remediation\, Mindset\, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment\, Firearm Cleaning\, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities. \nThis is a live fire course so students are free to bring their own handgun and holster.
