The NRA created it to provide the certification needed to apply for carry permits in Maryland\, Utah\, Arizona\, Florida and Virginia. This in turn allows concealed carry for self-defense in most US states. Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory)\, Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense\, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills\, Drawing from Concealment\, Loading and Stoppage Remediation\, Mindset\, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment\, Firearm Cleaning\, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities. \nThis is a live fire course so students are free to bring their own handgun and holster. If you don’t have on yet we will have a variety to choose from so you can decide what platform works best for you. \nCovering the basics of firearm safety\, carrying and drawing a firearm and deployment of a firearm in self-defense\, you will learn from NRA accredited instructors\, giving you the skills and confidence to take appropriate measures should you find yourself in a life-threatening situation. DESCRIPTION:Become certified to apply for multiple states concealed carry permits. \nThis class will give you the certification to apply for carry permits in Maryland\, Utah\, Florida\, Arizona and Virginia. This class will also allow you to apply for your Maryland HQL. Obtaining these licenses will enable you to carry for self defense in the majority of the United States. \nThis is a three day (Afternoon) class and has a live fire portion to be conducted at the range. In addition to legal material it covers the basics of firearm safety\, carrying and drawing a firearm as well as deploying one in self defense. Class will run from 4pm-9pm M\,T\,W.  \nThis is an accredited class and students who successfully complete it will receive a certification from the NRA.

SUMMARY:Women's Armed/Unarmed Self Defense
DESCRIPTION:This class centers around the principal of self defense against a larger\, stronger opponent- even if a firearm is out of reach or not available. Topics include weapon retention\, shot placement\, weapon manipulation under pressure\, close quarters armed and unarmed engagement\, basic hand to hand techniques\, counters when pinned and basic knife defense. This is an active class and participants should come prepared to move and sweat (attire should also include a belt capable of supporting a holster). Following technique and drills participants will also engage in active threat scenario based training. Proof of basic competency with a handgun is required.

DESCRIPTION:This is a full day class that covers weapon retention\, moving while engaging\, firing from cover\, target selection\, target transitions\, and transitioning from extreme close contact to beyond arms reach. The class is heavily scenario based. Participants should be proficient at a basic pistol level and be competent with emergency and tactical reloads. Participants should come dressed for an athletic class and will need a belt capable of supporting a holster.
