NRA Basic Rifle- Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. The listed fee does not include range fees which are paid the day of your scheduled training.

**Note- Firearms are available for rent. Please call and discuss what you will need. Firearm rental is $10 per day. If you lease our firearm you must use our ammunition. We have a local FFL supply us with ammunition prices every month. If you use our firearms and ammunition you will be charged to cover ammunition replenishment. We can supply you the ammunition cost sheet ahead of time if you request it. Firearm rental fees and ammunition charges are paid the day of the class.

This class is accredited by the NRA and successful participants will receive a completion certificate from the NRA.

Description

NRA Basic Rifle- Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

The course begins with a classroom portion with marksmanship training on our virtual range system. After this the class will reconvene outside for the live fire portion. Don’t own a rifle? That is perfectly fine as we will have several rifles for you to use and try out in various calibers.

This class is accredited by the NRA and successful participants will receive a completion certificate from the NRA.
